In 2013, the City of Austin proclaimed August 29th Riders Against the Storm (RAS) Day in Austin, Texas. Most holidays are about giving, but RAS Day is about receiving. In collaboration with community organizations, local businesses, and health practitioners, RAS DAY is an all day, family-friendly festival that seeks to cultivate community, inspire unity and encourage rejuvenation with an eclectic lineup of performances, health-conscious food tastings, and interactive activities for all to enjoy.

 

Using the platform afforded them by winning Band of the Year for 3 years in a row at the 2016 Austin Music Awards, RAS – led by the bold husband and wife hip-hop duo Chaka and Qi Dada – is aiming to shift culture and enliven the Austin community through music, movement, and a little bit of magic.
